Friday June 25th is National Food Truck Day. One of the things we love about living on the First Coast is the variety of excellent eateries the area features. Over recent years there has been an increase in the number of unique food trucks popping up around the city. We wanted to make a list of some of the highest rated food trucks in the area. Check out our list below in no particular order and enjoy noshing on some First Coast food truck fare! Crave Food Truck
Crave food truck in St. Augustine serves up healthy salads, bowls, smoothies and wraps. They are committed to serving food made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and work closely with local farms and purveyors. They have daily specials as well as set menu items. The Happy Grilled Cheese
The Happy Grilled Cheese is a Jacksonville food truck with a menu that features a wide variety of unique grilled cheese sandwiches such as their BLT melt and their Duuuval hot chicken melt. On the Fly Sandwiches & Stuff
On the Fly food truck is owned and operated by chef Andrew Ferenc, who many say is a pioneer of the Jax food truck scene. They serve gourmet sandwiches such as the Jumbo Shrimp Po Boy, sides such as Blue Chips finished with a balsamic reduction, and other items which include tacos and quesadillas. They also have a catering menu. You won’t want to cross this local favorite off your list. According to their website, the truck has earned several awards including “Best of” Awards in Jacksonville Magazine, Folio Weekly, Void Magazine and has won multiple Food Truck Champion and People’s Choice Titles at the Jax Truckies Food Truck Championships.

Chinchilla’s Eats On The Streets
This family owned food truck serves Tex-Mex meals which include quesadillas, loaded fries, nachos and churros. You should make sure to check out this award winning truck, a local favorite with great reviews.

Mr Potato Spread
The local family who began Mr. Potato Spread in 2014 states on their website, “After months of testing and research, we decided that potatoes were extremely underrated and underutilized.” They also were inspired by the Bold City to create the “Original Crab Pot Potato,” which is their signature dish. The food truck also offers a brick and mortar restaurant as well as online ordering, delivery and catering.

Pie95 Pizza
Pie 95 serves wood-fired artisan style pizza made with fresh local ingredients. Their menu and truck location schedule can be viewed on their website. Fusion
Fusion’s food truck serves up award winning global fusion cuisine. Their Thai, Indian and Mediterranean menu is seasonably inspired. The truck can often be found at city events such as the Riverside Arts Market. Notable menu items include Thai noodle dishes, fusion wraps such as the Tandoori Chicken Wrap and the Falafel Wrap. Nitrogen Creamery
Nitrogen Creamery is a unique ice cream experience that serves sweet treats on their food truck. Nitrogen Creamery’s ice cream starts with a liquid base and the flavor of your choosing. From there the liquid nitrogen is added to the mixture where it freezes the ice cream into an incredibly smooth textured ice cream. This mobile creamery also caters for special events.
