De-stress on the first coast

April is Stress Awareness Month and there are a multitude of things you can do to relieve stress in and around the Bold City. In honor of Stress Awareness Month, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best places to go to seek stress relief on the First Coast. 

Enjoy a day at the beach 

The Northeast Florida area has no shortage of sandy beaches and crystal-clear water for beachgoers to enjoy. From Jacksonville Beach, St. Augustine to Amelia Island, there is no shortage of gorgeous beaches located on the First Coast. Soaking up the sun and unwinding in the sand is an excellent way to relieve stress. Here’s a great site that outlines the area’s top beaches.

Take a spa day

A luxurious way to relax and relieve stress is to take a spa day at one of the area’s lush spas. A few First Coast spas of note are: The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, The Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, and One Ocean in Atlantic Beach. 

Enjoy a show at the Jacksonville Symphony 

Another way to escape stress is to enjoy one of the many amazing performances at the Jacksonville Symphony. The highly acclaimed orchestra puts on a variety of productions monthly so make sure to check out their performance schedule here.

Take in the scenery and artwork at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens 

The Cummer Museum is a vital source for the celebration of the arts and education located in Jacksonville’s Historic Riverside area. This quaint museum located on the banks of the St. John’s features a host of different artists’ works. It’s also home to some of the most beautiful gardens the city has to offer. The mission behind the Cummer Museum is to engage and inspire through the arts, gardens, and education. Stretch and Unwind 

Classic stress relievers are exercise, meditation and yoga. The area has no shortage of yoga studios and gyms to breathe, work out your stress and unwind your mind. Some notable spots to check out are Red Skies Yoga, view them online here . There is also Everbalance Yoga Barre Pilates Studio, visit their website for classes here, and Soluna Yoga + Spa, which you can read about here. There are a variety of other excellent yoga studios in the area so make sure to do your research. 

Unleash the stress beast 

Everyone has their own way of relieving stress, so we’ve also added some less traditional spots as well. Some ways to get out your aggression and stress are to throw axes, take a boxing class, or if you’re really stressed you can even visit a rage room!
