*Dickens on Centre Returns to Fernandina Beach for 10th Year*

The enchanting Dickens on Centre festival is set to return to historic downtown Fernandina Beach from December 12-15, celebrating its 10th anniversary as Northeast Florida’s largest Christmas Market. This beloved event promises to immerse visitors in the holiday spirit, featuring lively entertainers, seasonal treats, and beautifully decorated streets that evoke the charm of a Victorian Christmas.

Kicking off the festivities is the Dickens Illuminated Procession, where everyone is encouraged to join a family-friendly parade led by Jax Pipes & Drums. Participants can bring battery-operated lights to illuminate the evening (please no open flames), and food lovers will find a variety of delicious offerings from local vendors. For a truly unique experience, visitors can step into the Enchanted Village, where groups of up to six friends can enjoy a holiday-themed snow globe, complete with a charcuterie box and drinks available for purchase.

One of the festival’s major highlights is the one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol,” brought to life by the talented Jason Woods, who will portray all 20 characters on the Wharf Main Stage at 7:30 PM.

The second day of the festival kicks off with a family-friendly fun run at Main Beach Park, where participants can enjoy hot chocolate and the company of costumed characters. A favorite event, the Parade of Paws, invites pets dressed in their finest holiday attire to parade through downtown, showcasing the creativity and holiday spirit of the community.

Families will find plenty of fun at Tiny Tim’s Kid Zone, which features activities, outdoor holiday movies, and a chance for children to write letters to Santa. The evening culminates in Marley’s Masquerade at the historic Lesesne House, a costumed party that includes live music, delicious food, and captivating entertainment. Each night will also feature a stunning holiday-themed drone show over the Amelia River harbor, bringing a spectacular visual finale to the festival’s festivities.

As the festival comes to a close on Sunday, visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Dickens on Centre Christmas Market, exploring Oliver’s Alley and discovering unique gifts offered by local vendors. Throughout the weekend, live performances, street artists, and holiday readings will fill the air with joyous sounds, creating an unforgettable holiday experience.

As you take in the sights, sounds, and tastes of Dickens on Centre, be sure to create lasting memories and mark your calendar for this year’s festivities. Happy Holidays!
